Man suffers severe leg injuries in workplace accident

A 43-year old man remains in hospital- after his legs were crushed in a workplace accident at Tewantin late yesterday.

The man was working with a three-tonne excavator on a building site, when the accident happened.

It’s unknown how the machinery rolled- which will be the centre of a workplace health and safety investigation.

Police still looking for carjacker

A 39-year old Sunshine Coast man is very happy to have his car back this morning.

The white Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was allegedly stolen at knife point while stopped at a set of traffic lights in Maroochydore on SATURDAY night.

Thankfully after a public appeal for information, the local man’s pride and joy was found late yesterday at Kuluin, not far from where it was last seen being driven away by the culprit.

Police are still trying to find the alleged carjacker, he’s described as caucasion, about 25 years old, with scruffy hair.

Design the 10th anniversary Australia Day Award trophy

Local artisans are being called-on to submit their ideas and designs for the 10th anniversary Sunshine Coast Australia Day Award trophy.

Each year award recipients receive a unique trophy to recognise their achievements and contribution to the community- and each trophy double as a piece of artwork- specially designed and crafted locally.

Council needs 8 trophies for the 10th anniversary Australia Day Awards…you can submit your design brief and costings by contacting ‘events’ at Sunshine Coast Council.

Coast locals wins on world stage

Former Sunshine Coast local Tia-Clair Toomey says her recent win at the gruelling international cross fit games- is 100 times better than the Olympics.

The win saw TOOMEY crowned the world’s fittest woman- it was her third attempt at the title.
