Coast woman caught up in Las Vegas mass shooting
A SIPPY DOWNS woman says she ran people were shot around her at the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival in LAS VEGAS.
27-year old JESS NELSON was there with two friends and was standing to the left of the stage when the gun shots rang out.
She says at first she thought the popping sound was fireworks…
Her group eventually made it safely back to their hotel room.
The gunman has been IDENTIFIED.. as 64 year old LOCAL Steven Paddock..

Decent rain hits the region
Many families across the Sunshine Coast are happy to finally have some water in the tank…after last night’s heavy downpour.
It’s the first decent rain here since cyclone DEBBIE back in MARCH- and there’s more to come, with another 30 millimetres expected today.
Since 9am yesterday Palmview’s received 64 millimetres of rain, 87 at YANDINA and 89 millimetres in Maroochydore.
Busy year for our hospital and health service
The latest report by the Sunshine Coast Hospital and health Service shows more patients are being treated here than ever before.
The local hospital and health service covers the Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions.
In the 2016-17 financial year a total of 3 thousand and 22 babies were born, that’s up 69 from the year before.
More than 144 thousand patients were treated in emergency departments and more than 11 thousand elective surgeries were performed.
As of July next year- the stage two opening of the University Hospital commences to include cardiac surgery.
