Armed robbery charges

A man is due in court today on attempted robbery charges.

It will be alleged the 37-year old entered a bank on Lowe Street in Nambour at about 1 yesterday afternoon, and demanded cash.

He then fled on foot empty handed….and was arrested a short distance away in Ann Street.

Police will allege that during a search of the man a knife was found.

No one was physically injured.

 

CLIVE PALMER’s empire is on the line.

Authorities are attempting to FREEZE the mining magnate’s FORTUNE and ASSETS to pay back taxpayers for the Queensland Nickel collapse.

They’re hoping to recoup almost 70-MILLION dollars paid to employees at his refinery who were left without entitlements when the company WENT BUST last year.

Education ambassadors for the SSC

The Sunshine Coast Council has enlisted the help of 12 volunteer ambassadors from five countries- to help talk-up the region’s education benefits.

The group of students are part of the Study Sunshine Coast student ambassador program.

They’ll be presented with an ambassador badge today, so they can talk openly about the advantages of the Coast as an education destination.

 

Caloundra care petition

A petition calling for the establishment of a Caloundra Urgent Care centre 24 hours a day- will be presented to the member for Caloundra this morning.

The community-led petition has close to 3 and a half thousand signatures in support of a medical facility that provides fulltime care.

Mark McArdle will officially lodge the petition in State Parliament next week.
