Bushfire season safety talk

A community meeting will be held this afternoon, for residents wanting to ensure their homes and property is prepared for the bushfire season- that’s now upon us.

Last month an out of control fire, fanned by strong winds broke out near the Bruce Highway and forced the evacuation of homes at AURA and Little Mountain.

The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service says the quick actions of affected residents and the work of fire personnel prevented loss of properties and lives.

Locals are encouraged to attend an information session from 5:30 at Unity College, Caloundra West.
