National park draft plan out for consultation

The State Government has released a draft management plan for Mt Coolum National Park, which is now open for public consultation.

The draft plan outlines a need to protect the natural and cultural significance of the popular climbing spot, with close to 240,000 people scaling the summit each year.

Authorities want to stop people from wandering off-track and damaging vegetation, while the need to bathrooms and additional car parking spaces remains.

Consultation is open until March 13.
