Start to bushfire season

August 1 marks the official start to the bushfire season- and we’re being asked to update our bushfire survival plans.

All households should have a survival plan and make sure they remove flammable material, like dry grass and leaf matter from around the home.

While fire crews have been busy conducting burn-offs across the region to prepare, we all know how easy it is for a blaze to take hold….

It’s been almost 12 months since an intense bushfire burnt through more than 7 hundred hectares at Caloundra, forcing residents to evacuate.
