June — Our Biggest Moment

Each June, Mix FM goes all in.

More stories
More broadcasts
More events
More community

It’s when the Sunshine Coast rallies together and shows just how much it cares.

But the families we help?
They need it 365 days a year.

That’s why Give Me 5 never stops.

What Is Give Me 5?

Give Me 5 is a community movement started by MixFM 27 years ago in support of Wishlist and the Sunshine Coast Hospital & Health Service.

All year long, locals, schools, clubs and businesses run events and challenges that fund equipment, programs and care for patients right here at home.

Then each June, the Coast comes together for one massive on-air push — our biggest show of support.

Think of June as the celebration.
The impact happens every day.

Why It Matters

Every week on the Sunshine Coast:

🖐🏻 Families are admitted unexpectedly.
🖐🏻 Kids are diagnosed early.
🖐🏻 Parents face long hospital stays.

The difference between fear and comfort often comes down to what equipment, services and support exist locally.

Give Me 5 helps make sure they exist.

Where The Funds Go

Your support helps fund:

Critical Care Equipment

Faster diagnosis and better treatment without leaving the Coast

Neonatal & Paediatric Support

Helping babies and children receive specialised care close to family

Patient & Family Wellbeing

Mental health programs, therapy services and comfort care

Hospital Innovation

Technology that improves recovery outcomes and reduces trauma

Every dollar stays local.

Wishlist funds MRI-Compatible Ventilator

Through Give Me 5, the funds raised helped fund the MRI-Compatible ventilator for the Neonatal Unit at SCUH.

Jen and Jayda’s Story

The sisters from Sippy Downs share a heart breaking genetic condition which limits their life and stumped the global medical community for more than a decade.

Baby Nellie’s Journey

In March 2024, Jess Sumpton, a mother of four, was diagnosed with Group B Streptococcus during her fifth pregnancy. The infection became septic, and meant Baby Nellie was delivered at just 29 weeks.
